Jesy Nelson shares PREGNANCY UPDATE after EMERGENCY PROCEDURE to save unborn twins

Earlier this month, singer Jesy Nelson, who is pregnant with twins, tearfully revealed in a video she is undergoing an urgent procedure to give her unborn twins the ‘best chance of survival’

Pregnant Jesy Nelson has shared an update after she was rushed to hospital and told she needed to have an urgent procedure to save her unborn twins. Speaking on Instagram on Mother’s Day, the star confirmed she was still pregnant with twins but is still in hospital – but told fans that she had some ‘amazing news’ to share.

The singer, 33, and her partner Zion Foster, 26, appeared in high spirits as they shared the update with fans from hospital. “Hi guys, so we just wanted to give you an update because we know it’s been a while. First of all we want to say a Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing and strong mums out there. And secondly, we are still in hospital, so I’ve been recovering.

“But, we have some amazing news. The TTTS has cleared up, the operation was a success which is just absolutely incredible. We are so, so, lucky to have the most amazing doctors. Basically, the situation that we’re in now is my cervix is very, very, short, so I can’t leave the hospital because my waters could break at any point and I’m still very, very, early.”

Jesy went on: “So yeah, I can’t leave the hospital until I’m a certain amount of weeks. Every week we’re praying that the babies stay in my belly but yeah, we are just so grateful that they are still here and they’re still growing strong and we’re just so grateful.”

Her other half Zion then added: “We’re in such a blessed, blessed, situation to even be able to make this video and share this good news.” Zion then added that he has decided to run the London Marathon for Twins Trust after Jesy’s worrying pregnancy.

Jesy and Zion revealed to fans earlier this month that their unborn twins have a life-threatening condition. In a candid, tearful video, Jesy explained she has been told she is having identical twins but was warned there are “complications that come with having identical twins”.

She revealed she was pre-stage twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), meaning her babies were at risk of developing the rare syndrome. Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome is described by the NHS as an “abnormality of the placenta”.

The NHS adds: “This results in an imbalanced blood flow from 1 twin (known as the donor) to the other (recipient), leaving 1 baby with a greater blood volume than the other. TTTS affects 10 to 15% of monochorionic twins and can have serious consequences.”

Days late Jesy could be seen with a cannula in her arm as she revealed in another tearful video with her partner by her side that she had been experiencing some of the symptoms she has been told to watch out for. After going to the hospital for a check-up, Jesy was told by doctors they had to perform a procedure to give her unborn babies “the best chance of surviving”.

She said in the video: “Unfortunately the symptoms have got worse so we now have to have … they have to perform the procedure, which is obviously not what we wanted to happen.”

The singer added: “But it’s necessary because it’s gonna give our babies like the best chance of surviving. So yeah, we’re just waiting to go in. And we’re just hoping and praying for the best really. I feel gutted. I feel absolutely gutted because I really was hoping that we wouldn’t even be in this position.”

“So that it literally gives you the best chance of your baby surviving but it’s obviously just really scary cause there’s so many things that can happen,” as she wiped away tears. “We just wanted to update you guys, keep you in the loop with what’s going on. Just pray for us guys, thank you.”

The singer was flooded with support from celebrity friends and fans as Safiyya Vorajee wrote: “Crying watching you babe seeing you go through this stress & worry hurts my heart know I am praying for the babies you and Zion and sending you all the strength and positive energy all my love”.

Natasha Hamilton added: “Sending so much love, strength & prayers your way”. While Georgia Kousoulou wrote: “Praying for you”
