Chloe Newsome was on the long-running soap for seven years before leaving the cobbles in 1998, and has since kept a low-profile.

Coronation Street’s Chloe Newsome, who famously played Vicky McDonald, has been spotted looking radiant in a recent photo, 27 years after her departure from the soap.

Chloe, who took over the role of Vicky from Helen Warburton, was a key character on the show for seven years before leaving in 1998. Post-Corrie, she kept a low profile, only appearing in minor roles in ‘The Jealous God’ (2005) and ‘Lost Christmas’ (2011).

In the same year she left the ITV soap, she also featured in police drama ‘The Bill’ as Jacky Marsh and in ‘The Life and Crimes of William Palmer’ as Eliza Tharm.

In the soap, her character Vicky was Alec Gilroy’s daughter who fell in love with and married Steve McDonald. After the death of her parents, Alex and Bet raised her, and she inherited a hefty sum when she turned 18.

However, her marriage became strained when her husband squandered her inheritance on stolen whiskey, reports the Mirror.

Vicky eventually left the show, supposedly moving to Brighton to open a wine bar. However, due to financial struggles, she had to ask Bet for a loan.

The character was last mentioned in 2002, when it was revealed she was happily married to a man named Martin. In a recent photo, Chloe looked content as she posed with a roller blade slung over her shoulder.

She sported a unique look with a pink skirt, a red-and-white striped shirt topped with a leopard-print cardigan and a fluffy gilet for warmth.

Over the past ten years, Chloe has primarily focused on stage work, featuring in productions such as Twelfth Night, Othello and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

In contrast, her on-screen husband Steve, portrayed by Simon Gregson, is currently experiencing one of his life’s darkest periods after his wife Michelle Connor, played by Paula Lane, discovered he fathered a child with her friend Leanne Battersby, enacted by Jane Danson.

Simon, who has been playing Steve since 1989, took a hiatus in 2015 due to “personal reasons”. He made a swift return a year later and has stayed on ever since.

Recently, Corrie actor Simon sparked worries about his marriage when he was seen without his wedding ring. The actor has been wedded to Emma for 14 years.

Earlier this year, Simon stoked separation rumours when a tax report concerning his finances stated that he and his “estranged” wife had three years to repay debt from their production company’s account.

He has once again set tongues wagging after being spotted without his wedding band while running errands, following Emma being seen without hers last month.
