The Repair Shop: On The Road is set to return for a third series.

The popular BBC show announced today (May 13) that it is now seeking meaningful community items in Wales and other parts of the UK that need restoration.

Taking to Instagram, hosts Will Kirk and Dom Chinea announced the news. In a short video clip, Will said: “Repair Shop: On The Road is back. And we have had some amazing experiences bringing the magic of the barn onto the road.

Dom added, “We would love to hear of any community projects that need a little Repair Shop touch, and of course, any personal items that we can bring back to the barn. Now’s the time to get in touch.”

In the first two series, produced by Ricochet, viewers watched Will, Dom, and fellow experts travel the country to repair treasured objects and local landmarks with deep community significance.

Previous restorations have included a memorial to fishermen lost at sea in a Scottish coastal town, as well as a historic railway pump trolley that once set records, each item representing local heritage and shared memories.

Ricochet Executive Producer Emma Walsh shared her excitement for the new series, stating that there is no fix the experts can’t do.

She said: “We’ve had the most incredible experiences bringing the magic of the barn out on the road. Helping to restore some incredible items, no fix is too challenging for our team of experts!

“We want to hear about more community items that are in need of the special Repair Shop touch and, of course, any personal items that have rich local context.”

Community items could come from or be linked to places like community centres, charities, clubs, schools, churches, youth groups, sports or cultural organisations, volunteer projects, museums, heritage sites, or other local institutions.

Sharing his take on their brand new venture, Will said: “One of the real joys of going out on the road is uncovering items that hold real meaning to a community, where a repair or restoration genuinely makes a difference to local people.”

The star went on to share one of his most poignant fixes to date. He said: “Every fix is special, but the phone box in Birmingham was a particularly memorable one – a life-saving restoration that repurposed an old telephone box, an important part of British history, into a vital defibrillator station. We want to hear what your community would like help with – get in touch, we’d love to come and visit you!”

Dom Chinea added: “Communities are the heart of the country, and having a shared interest, whether through sport, schools or cultural groups are critical to bringing people together.

“There’s no better feeling than knowing we can bring The Repair Shop magic to make a positive impact on the communities. We’d love to hear your stories.”
