Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, who played the role of Andy Sugden in the ITV soap, has issued a sad update as he shared news of a ‘tragic’ loss on his family farm
Ex-Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher shared a heartbreaking update with ITV viewers on Wednesday (April 2), revealing a devastating loss on his family farm.
The 41-year-old, who played Andy Sugden in the soap, appeared on Lorraine via video link with his wife, Liz Marsland.
As he showed off the new arrivals, Kelvin explained: “These are the twins, we’ve actually named both of these.”

He continued: “Now, sadly, the mum there did have a prolapse, and she was actually in lamb with triplets, and we sadly lost the first one.”
Despite the loss, Kelvin and Liz were able to save the remaining two lambs, which were initially very small but are now thriving, reports Cheshire Live.
He said: “But we managed to obviously save these two and they were looking very very small when they were first born. They’re probably about four or five days old,”
Lorraine, who has been keeping up with the Fletchers’ farm updates, reflected on how much Kelvin’s life has changed since his Emmerdale days and his aspirations to pursue a career in Hollywood.

She said: “It’s amazing how life turns out, there you are, all those years on Emmerdale and you were so brilliant on Strictly but you were going to go to Hollywood.”
Kelvin’s career trajectory took an unexpected turn, as the host noted: “You were going to go to Los Angeles, there were a lot of doors opening there, lots of auditions lined up and then of course, COVID hit.”

Kelvin reflected on the drastic change: “Hollywood to Cheshire, I didn’t quite plan for that, it’s funny how things turn out and with our family now, it’s a life that we never envisaged but it’s a life we can’t imagine not being like that.”
