Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has shared an emotional update as she reflected on a major milestone in her cancer journey. The 35-year-old professional dancer, who is currently in remission following her battle with stage three breast cancer, took to Instagram on Monday to look back on one of the most difficult days of her life. Marking exactly three years since undergoing a mastectomy, Amy revealed how much her outlook on life has changed since her diagnosis in 2023.

She wrote: “Three years ago today, I had just had my breast removed and was currently undergoing fertility treatment before starting chemotherapy.” Amy explained that one of her biggest fears at the time was that her hormone-fed cancer would trigger an early menopause.

She continued: “I was terrified, not only of the treatment itself, but of being thrown into a forced menopause because my cancer was hormone-fed.”
