This Morning star Dr Alex George, who shot to fame on Love Island, has said an emotional “goodbye” to his show after more than 200 episodes. ITV star Alex started podcast the Stompcast to encourage listeners to get walking, and admitted it helped him quit drinking and get through grief, as well as inspiring others to get out in nature.

In a new video, however, he admitted that the time has come to end the show, explaining in an Instagram video alongside his mum: “So after over 200 episodes, four years, God knows how many steps that we’ve done, the Stompcast is now coming to an end. It’s over. The final stomp has been done, and the last episode is with my mum, which I think is very fitting for the Stompcast. I’m very grateful to it, because it has allowed me to discover ADHD and autism, to quit drinking, to get through grief, to improve my life.”

He continued: “I’m very grateful to every single person that’s come on the Stompcast, including my mum. To all the listeners, to all of you that tune in every week, to all the producers and everyone who helps me bring new episodes, I think it’s special, we’re proud. We’ve got people outside – moving, walking.

“When we were two years in, we calculated that the total number of stepas combined was to the moon and back like 13 times, from all the community listening. Imagine how many steps we’ve got in total now.

“I think we should be very proud of what we’ve done. I’m grateful to have my mum on the Stompcast, it’s a very powerful episode, bring the tissues. But it’s one that I think will inspire many. Thank you for listening, and goodbye.”

Alex added in the caption: “So I’m putting down my stomping boots, but something exciting is coming soon. What do you think could be next?”
