30 SECONDS… AND EVERYTHING CRUMBLED! £95,000 Slip Through Their Fingers on The 1% Club — The Jaw-Dropping Moment That Had Contestants Second-Guessing Everything! It was the moment of truth — just 30 seconds stood between two finalists and a life-changing £95,000 on The 1% Club. What should’ve been a simple shape-counting challenge turned into pure chaos the second the clock started ticking. At first, it seemed easy enough — count the triangles, stay calm, lock in the answer… but then, things took a dark turn.

The 1% Club’s mind-boggling triangle puzzle costs contestants £95k – but can YOU defy the odds and get it right?

A horrifically difficult question on The 1% Club saw both finalists lose out on the £95,000 prize pot – but are you smart enough to work it out?

As the popular show’s name suggests, it aims to find the top 1% of players by asking them a series of increasingly difficult quiz questions.

However, as fans know, some questions are a lot harder than others – and the 1% question is often the hardest of all.

In the resurfaced episode, which initially aired in 2024, players Christopher and Scott were shown a picture of a triangle with several smaller triangles inside it.

Host Lee Mack, now 57, asked: ‘How many triangles are there in this picture?’

But with just 30 seconds on the clock to work it out, the puzzle, which featured several triangles within triangles, left the contestants stumped.

Would you have been able to get the right answer? Lee went on to reveal that there were 18 triangles in total in the image, an answer that neither of the players got.

Christopher, who guessed that there were eight triangles, said: ‘I clearly didn’t count all the triangles.’

But despite the sheer difficulty of the question, Scott managed to get tantalisingly close to the right answer and guessed that there were 19 triangles in the image.

He said: ‘I started counting, and then I just kept counting the same triangles over and over and over again.’

It’s not just older episodes of the show that have left contestants and audiences scratching their heads.

An earlier question wiped out a whopping one-third of in-studio players last month.

For the 50% question, Lee said: ‘Answer this question. If TRUE is 1234 and LOVE is 7654, what bird is 5371324?’

A third of The 1% Club players were wiped out by a tricky bird question on Saturday's episode of the show ¿ but can YOU crack it within 30 seconds?

After 30 seconds were up, two were booted off after getting the question incorrect.

‘We lost two people there, and 20 people used their pass. Let’s take a look at the answer…’ Lee told viewers.

He continued: ‘It’s VULTURE. If you replace the numbers with the appropriate letters in the question, you get VULTURE.’

The host then went to one of the players called Matt, who decided to use his pass after finding it too difficult.

Matt explained: ‘No clue and then soon as the time was up, it became quite obvious what it was.’

The 1% Club hit our screens back in April 2022.

The show has aired 62 episodes across five series.
